Touched by loss. Empowered through community.

Marlene Delaney

My husband of over 20 years died from a glioblastoma brain tumor in February 2009 at the age of 48.  I was a 50 year old widow.  My son was in his freshman year of college and my daughter was a junior in high school. In the years since he has died, I have seen both of my children graduate from college and start their adult lives and I have increased my work responsibilities as a structural engineer in a small firm. Life goes on - many times in a good way but the loss of my husband is a constant fact.  It is 2015 and I am six years older.  We all age so I hope my insights and thoughts as a not so young widow can be appreciated by others in my shoes.
